Attracting and retaining top employees is a major concern of many small business owners and senior managers. With competition for high-performing employees increasing, employers are looking for ways to distinguish themselves from the competition. One area with tremendous currency is workplace flexibility; employees with children, eldercare responsibilities, or other needs outside the work environment, want employers who can help them manage their work-life needs. Research tells us that employees freed up from conflicts between work and personal life are better able to focus their full attention and energy on work and to better help their companies thrive.

The Flex Options program of the Women’s Bureau, U.S. Department of Labor, in conjunction with Deloitte & Touche USA, LLP. cordially invites you to a breakfast seminar to learn more about workplace flexibility and how it can be implemented or expanded in your workplace for business success. You will hear from experts at Deloitte about their award-winning flexibility program. You will also have a chance to discuss experiences, needs and issues around workplace flexibility with your peers, and to problem-solve and share solutions.

Among the topics we will discuss are:
• How to create or expand a workplace flexibility program that meets your business needs and is “fair” to all employees.
• Criteria for deciding whether or how a job can be “flexed”.
• How to manage employees from afar.
• Making sure a program is working and what to do if it isn’t.

To help support your initiatives, the Women’s Bureau will invite you to become a participant in their Flex Options program where you will find many valuable resources addressing this issue.

Our goal is to keep the session small so that participants can interact with speakers and one another.
